Auckland BIG AIR

June 7, 2011

I flew up to the Auckland Big Air that just happened.  Made the finals but couldn’t quite land the tricks under the lights and in front of the crowd. Good weekend with a good crew! A huge thanks to everyone that made the event possible, especially Graeme Heald! Bring on Winter 2011! Check out an edit from the event brought to you by NZsnowboard.com. <—

2011 Burton US Open

March 15, 2011

This is the first of the Open Series that I have competed in and it was one BIG week. The weather held true to typical East Coast
conditions which consisted of rain, sleet, snow, wind, cloud and sun. In Pre-Qualifiers practice I managed to knuckle the 75ft
jump on my butt and bruise my tailbone to the point that I wasn’t sure if i could compete. After a quick check up with the physio
I managed to put down a run that put me in 22nd with the top 30 from 80 competitiors going through. The next day was Qualifiers
and my tailbone was not good! It all came down to the last jump and I only managed to do 1 and 3/4 wildcats ending up on my
stomach on the landing. I was lucky not to hurt something else and the whole competition was a great experience. I finished
48th overall out of 120 competitiors.

Denver FIS World Cup Big Air

February 2, 2011

I competed at the FIS Denver WC Big Air on Jan 26th.

It was an eye opening event that saw a pretty solid 60ft kicker in amongst the skyscrapers of Denver.

After a few days of practice under my belt I managed to stomp a FS 10 in qualifiers and move through to finals sitting in 8th.

I put everything on the line in finals and didn’t come away with the stomped tricks that I was looking for. I finished in 12th place in which was a very competitive field of riders.

Can’t wait for another Big Air comp!
